SSC JE Recruitment 2024 Salary Details

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct an open competitive examination to recruit Junior Engineers (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical) for various Government of India organizations/offices. These positions belong to Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted), Non-Ministerial category, at Level-6 (Rs 35400-112400/-) of the pay matrix according to the 7th Central Pay Commission.

SSC JE Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

As part of the SSC JE selection procedure, candidates are required to undergo Paper 1, Paper 2, and document verification processes. Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and will consist solely of Objective Type, Multiple-choice questions. Candidates must attempt the General Engineering section (Part-A, Part-B, or Part-C) in both papers, based on their chosen Stream/Subject of Educational Qualification.

SSC JE Recruitment 2024 Paper Pattern

The selection process for the Junior Engineer position within various departments of the Government of India comprises two stages: Paper I and Paper II Computer Based Tests. Here are the details:

Paper I Exam- Subjects:

  • General Intelligence & Reasoning
  • General Awareness
  • Part-A: General Engineering (Civil & Structural) OR Part-B: General Engineering (Electrical) OR Part-B: General Engineering (Mechanical)

    Negative Marking: Yes, ¼ mark will be deducted for incorrect responses.

Paper II Exam- Subjects:

  • Part-A: General Engineering (Civil & Structural) OR Part-B: General Engineering (Electrical) OR Part-B: General Engineering (Mechanical): 100 questions, 300 marks
    Total Questions: 100
    Maximum Marks: 300
    Duration: 2 hours
    Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.

Candidates who clear the Paper I Exam will proceed to Paper II. The final selection will be based on the combined performance in both papers.
